01.Concrete and Code

Book

235 x 324mm
160 pp. Hardcover

Concrete and Code is a book that illustrates the history and philosophy of Brutalist architecture as it confronts the contemporary problem of information overload.

In the past, Brutalism, a style marked by bold geometric forms and the use of raw concrete as its primary material, spoke to a post-war world in desperate need of urban renewal. However, in the current day, the web, with its electronic information overload, exists as a pure expression of digital-Brutalism.

02.Quarantine Tales
Newspaper Issue

350 x 500mm
12 pp. 55gsm improved

To connect these two eras, this newspaper issue went on a dual narrative timeline through two characters: Elissa in the 14th century and Panfilo in 2020. Their voices create a bridge between pandemics, showing how fear, isolation, and storytelling repeat across time. This a gift for everyone who has been through the hard times in the pandemic and come back stronger.
The stories in this project reflect a shared human experience, moments of fear, isolation, and uncertainty that many of us went through in similar ways. Even though the setting shifts across time, the emotions and instincts are universal, connecting people through the same need for hope, meaning, and survival.

03.Auto Dashing

Video Footage by
Chia-Yu Liu
Book

246 x 292 mm
522 pp. Hardcover

Auto Dashing seeks and studies the impact of automotive dashboards on the driving experience. Despite the critical role that dashboards play, there is a distinct lack of conversation about how dashboard design impacts driving behavior and safety.

From analog to digital, the dashboard design has changed not only visually, but also in terms of flexibility, legibility, and accessibility. The goal of this book is to experimentally analyze dashboard typography and the visual evolution of dashboard design, highlighting, for designers, the importance and aesthetics of typography in the car dashboard.

Poster

Arch Type is a sans-serif typeface inspired by the enduring forms of ancient European architecture. Its design draws from the structural elegance of arches—shapes that have defined buildings and public spaces for centuries.

From the monumental curves of ancient Roman and Greek architecture to modern landmarks such as the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, the arch serves as both a structural and symbolic reference.

05.Different Ways of Seeing

Shidai Publish
Book

216 x 254 mm
268 pp. Hardcover

Graphic design functions as a form of visual poetics: it compresses complex ideas into legible, memorable constellations that circulate within cultural imaginaries and, over time, nudge collective norms and values. This book examines how such narrative strategies can subtly recalibrate consciousness, steering emotions, beliefs, and behaviors, by engineering immersive encounters that make viewers feel before they fully know. By foregrounding the reciprocal relationship between perception and design, it situates visual practice within broader debates about ideology, ethics, and power, inviting critical reflection on how images not only describe the world but also help produce it.

Poster Series

24 x 36 inch
Matte Paper

Free World is a poster series of storyboards that tells the story of the Dada Re-Imagined Manifesto. The Free World manifesto is about breaking the rules and giving your voice to the public.

Free World could be regarded as socially engaged art, which has the power to inspire people to form a new understanding and have a deep reflection on the darkness and chaos our current society confronts. This is a cultural phenomenon. The Free World encourages people to break the rules and bring their voices and ideas to the public, which they achieve by engaging their audience to think critically about social issues and political movements within the community.

Book

250 x 205mm
59 pp. Hardcover

Lights Out is a book about the impact of light pollution on humans from the perspective of history, daily life, and behavior.

I always feel relaxed when I see the stars in the endless night. But in the city, due to light pollution, I have no chance to see the stars. I can only see the concrete forest, the gray sky, and the bright street lights. Sleep quality is also often ruined by the light that shines into a room, causing me to always feel helpless and stressed. This led me to design a book to help people become aware of the negative effects of light pollution.
